Meet the Crew

Beth Schrader
Booking Manager & Scuba Instructor
Beth is our Booking Manager, one of the shop's instructors, and can be seen working the boat occasionally too. She began diving in 1991 at just 11 years old. During college she became a scuba instructor. She spent 17 years torturing children with Algebra. During summer break she's turning humans into marine mammals. She's been back at scuba full time since 2023. She'll be there to help ensure a great trip. From booking, renting gear, checking in, and even making sure your breathing gas is correct, she's keeping things running smooth.

Shane Anderson
Dive Operations Manager
Shane is the Dive Operations Manager. He's ensuring your safety, training new DM's, fixing the fresh water pump and everything in between. He'll be on every trip, most notably doing the tie-in. Shane started diving in 1993, became a divemaster in 2000 and an instructor in 2004. When he's not working the boat, you'll find him spearfishing up and down the coast. He's the man in charge on any given day.

Captain Kevin Keenan
Captain & Diver
Captains with the boat handling skills for scuba are rare. Having a talented captain who also is passionate about scuba, that's like hitting the lottery. We are blessed to have a man at the helm who knows what it's like above and below the water. With over 20 years experience running boats, Kevin traded rods and reels for tanks and regs 3 years ago. Steady and reliable, he's the man you want at the helm. He can also slay a monster grouper with a 3 foot pole spear when it's trying to eat his lionfish!

Houston Barnhill
Divemaster
Houston is a long-term customer turned crew. Both he and his daughter Harley love to dive. We are lucky enough to have him between his real job and real family. Houston is a talented divemaster with a calming presence and wicked sense of humor. If you catch him without a shirt on, ask him about his tattoos!

Hunter Eslava
Divemaster & Photographer
This young Divemaster has over 10 years experience. Hunter began diving at 8 years old in the PADI Seal Team Program. He's following in the footsteps of his Course Director father, earning Divemaster in 2024. He literally has grown up diving the Gulf and has more time underwater than any of the crew. He is frequently hired as a guide and puts all his Gulf knowledge to good use. Hunter is also a talented photographer. His work is featured in all our social media posts. When he's not diving, he's traveling. From Alaska to Paris, Hunter seeks adventure all over the world!

Amy Kunioshi
PADI Instructor & Divemaster
Amy has been a PADI Instructor and Divemaster since 2015, bringing more than a decade of professional dive leadership to every adventure. With a background in radio, she has a knack for making even the most complicated dive briefing understandable—and even entertaining! Her speciality? Turning nervous beginners into confident underwater explorers, while keeping things safe, fun, and just the right amount of ridiculous. When she's not diving, you'll find Amy covered in clay, making pottery, creating jewelry, or wondering how she managed to get another hobby. Basically, if it involves water, art, or making a mess, Amy is probably involved.
